Atticus Valtris
Atticus (she/her) started painting in 2023 so she could customize her DnD mini. What started as a quick hobby turned into something she loves. It was a way to connect with friends in person and online. She has since branched out and participated in online contests and the Palouse Modeler’s Contest held in Moscow each October.
All painting is supervised by two of her cats, Yuta and Oni, who take turns conducting quality assurance checks on each model she paints. Her husband supports her by being a hype man, and collaborating on ideas.
Painting became an outlet. As someone who is chronically ill, it has allowed her time to relax while still participating in community. She’s found different ways to help herself and others who struggle with painful and shaky hands. She’s found a community she can rely on to help her grow in the hobby and enjoy herself.
